Our Ridgefield community thrives on shared values, mutual respect, and the belief that everyone deserves a voice. The Ridgefield Democratic Campaign is proud to uphold the principles of HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and the PROTECTION OF INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS—including property rights and the right to a political voice. We believe that the foundation of a strong community lies in transparent communication and the ethical conduct of those who represent it.
Unfortunately, we keep hearing that other political parties are placing campaign signs on private properties without the owners' explicit permission. We believe your home is your sanctuary. The Democratic candidates -- Hugo, Catherine, Mike, Joanna, and Colin -- believe that your property rights and political views deserve respect. Placing a political sign on your property without permission is not only a form of trespass and littering, but it is also the hijacking of your political voice and your right to share your political views or to stay silent.
The Ridgefield Democratic Campaign is not just about winning an election; it's about building a stronger, more unified community. Your voice matters, your home deserves respect, and your community deserves leaders prioritizing the values that make Ridgefield exceptional. Together, let's build a Ridgefield that we can all be proud to call home.
And, what should you do if this is happening to you? You can discard signs left on your property without permission in the garbage. If the signs reappear without your permission, you can discard them again or even file a report with the police department.
Most importantly, show that this behavior is not OK with you or in your town. Tell your friends and neighbors what is going on so you can take your voice back. And, most importantly, VOTE for the candidates who respect you and the Borough of Ridgefield.
